AI is changing America.
But who gets a say?

We’re taking a camera and one question on the road: what does AI mean for you?

For two weeks, our three-person crew will meet people in diners, schools, workplaces, and retirement communities. We want to hear how AI fits into your life, whether you use it every day, worry about it, or have never tried it.

You don’t need to know the technology to have something to say.

01

Listen first

We’ll ask about your experience and give you time to answer.

02

Leave the bubble

We’re looking beyond tech circles for voices that rarely get asked.

03

Show the tension

There’s room for excitement, doubt, and changing your mind.

Three people.
One big question.

Meet the people asking the questions and running the cameras.

Setup and supplemental filming start in Chicago on October 9. Principal recording runs October 12 to 26, with two days in Chicago before we leave on the 14th. The route loops through the Midwest, South, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast.

The route is a working plan. Chicago, Birmingham, and Boston are anchor cities. Other stops may change with interviews and road conditions.

What’s your
side of the story?

You don’t need a title or a following. We want to hear from people whose experience of AI rarely makes the headlines.

Does AI feel useful, alienating, or both?

Our promise: We won’t select people for their résumé, camera polish, follower count, or whether they agree with us.

A few straight
answers.

Do I need to know anything about AI?+

No. We want people with every level of experience, including none at all. Tell us what you’ve experienced or what you’re wondering about.

Does this form book an interview?+

No. It registers your interest. Our team reviews the mix of stories, locations, and availability before inviting selected participants to schedule.

How will people be selected?+

We’re looking for specific, honest stories and broad coverage across age, work, community, AI exposure, and point of view, not polish, credentials, or follower count.

Will there also be spontaneous interviews?+

Yes. Alongside scheduled interviews, we’ll talk with people in cafés, on sidewalks, and in community spaces. Stops outside Chicago, Birmingham, and Boston may change.

Where will the finished film be available?+

We plan to release the documentary on YouTube. We’ll share short updates and city stories while we’re filming and editing.

Can a newsroom, organization, or equipment partner help?+

Yes. We welcome local introductions, reporting access, equipment support, and distribution help. Use the participant form and choose “Another nearby community,” then describe the partnership in the story field.
